There are a few things that should not be eaten in pregnancy. Of course, you must not have any alcohol, smoke or take drugs as this is detrimental for the baby.
Other important factors to consider are:
In pregnancy, you are at higher risk of contracting Listeria. Listeria is a bacteria that causes food poisoning. Therefore, the advice is to avoid unpasteurized soft cheeses and uncooked meats. It is important to also avoid pasteurized blue cheese and any cheese with a rind such as goats cheese, camembert or brie unless they have been cooked thoroughly .
You don’t need to eat for two, but you should eat well until you are satisfied.
Oily fish is good, but don’t have more than two portions a week. Try to avoid fish that have high levels of mercury. These include shark, swordfish and king mackerel.
Limit your caffeine intake to no more than 200mg a day.

☕one cup of tea contains an average of 50mg of caffeine.
☕Don’t forget that chocolate, coca-cola and matcha also contain some caffeine
Try to avoid uncooked eggs if you can. You can have mayonnaise as long as the eggs have been pasteurized.
